A New Rifle In My Future???

One thing the Mini-14 is known for and I can attest is that they are typically very over gassed and will chuck brass into the next century. Beware of this if you're on an open firing line because you're range neighbors may not like getting a constant brass shampoo. If you're mini is over gassed and it's an issue for you a tunable gas block is a sure fix or and even cheaper, simpler fix is an aftermarket gas bushing replacement which is a two minute install.

only the things you don't intend to hit being affected, but would be nice to have at least under 1.5moa. within 30' it should be good? depends on how far out defense needs to be.
Ok so how I saw it the slight wobble was after the round leaves the muzzle.

I'm just trying to make things realistic/safe. Not downing you. I've been wanting 1 of those for awhile also and never knew about barrel whip from others that owned or still own 1.
And I appreciate that information, I’m not buying anything right away so I will do my research if that has been addressed in newer models.

Reasearch is wonderful! I've been doing it for more than 3 months on best way to do an ar10 in 6.5prc. Talked with barrel mfgs, gunsmiths and others that have that cartridge. I have still yet to order a barrel. Port size per barrel length to gas system length yet to be determined, but getting close. I do have a bcg (weighs a little more than a typical ar10 bcg) and an upper that'll have a big enough ejection port for cases. There's a place I think in Virginia that builds short mag AR's, but have yet to get ahold of them. If I went with a wsm case I could get an extra 100-200fps over the prc depending on bullet weight. The prc give me that over the 260rem and 6.5creed in an AR platform. So, ya research is wonderful!

The newer Ruger Mini-14s are supposed to be more accurate than the older ones because of the newer barrel design.

I had one in 300 black out and it worked great. If I were still living in Arkansas I'd still have it because 300 black out is a very popular cartridge for hunting in Arkansas. Some hunters prefer the 300 blackout for hog hunting than a 223.

I've never liked the AR-15 look, even though I qualified expert with an M16-A1 the years I was in the Marine Corps('76-'79).

A few months back I came across a M-1 Carbine Enforcer(30 carbine, 11 inch barrel, pistol grip) that belonged to a fellow Marine.

It doesn't look like an AR and it's very handy for when I have drive near the Mexican border to visit relatives on the US side. It came with 3 30 round magazines, 10 rounder and 5 rounder.

Easy to shoot and conceal. It makes a good camping firearm. And it has that classic military rifle look I like...:)
Neat, can’t remember seeing anything like that

When I lived in SoCal everyone there said I was from “ Back east”. So St. Louis must be back east too.
At least you're west of SL. ;)

Being on the river it's on the line, and considering how that city is run it's got that eastern city bad juju.

When I've driven "back east" to visit family every time I crossed the river going east I felt like I was going behind the Iron Curtain, and crossing west going back to freedom.

There's a definite difference in the way things feel going either way.

Once I crossed the Missouri or into the Dakotas coming west the feeling got much better.

To bad it takes just enough to ruin it for the most. I know as I have a neighbor from a neighboring state that ruins the state name.

So what happened to California then?
