A positive Prodigy thread.

I have both a 4.25 and a 5” Prodigy. The slide to frame fit and barrel/lug fit is as good as any 1911/2011 I’ve had including an STI Matauder and a Les Baer Premier. The trigger on the 5” was fine. The 4.25 trigger needed a little TLC. Both run great with any ammo, even my Bunny fart IDPA handloads. Just a little positive for a change.

Mine had a handful of FTF's but after a very quick trip to SA it's been flawless for over 3000 rounds.

It's the best shooting pistol I've shot hands down. My father and a couple friends tried it at the range and bought one of their own shortly after.

That seems to be a fairly common occurrence. Why doesn't Springfield make sure they work before they leave the factory?

"a very quick trip to SA" would indicate that it didn't take much to fix it. It seems this could have just as easily been fixed before shipping without much more effort.

I had mine in hand the day it was released, the very first batch to be sold to the public.

I expected there might be some teething issues, like, almost every product that's put out these days, not just firearms.

Sure I had to send it in, but it cost me a grand total of 20 mins and zero dollars to call and drop it off FedEx only to get it back in 10 days total.

It now runs flawlessly and I can (loosely) argue that it's been hand fit and custom tuned by an armorer.

My stories mimic others here. Yep, I knew the risk buying it…turned out I was right. Zero cost, less than 10 Days later…flawless over 5K rounds since.
EGW ignition and 17# mainspring in mine after 2500ish rounds. It is no Staccato, I recently purchased one and really, really love it. but the Prodigy is no slouch and it’s easy to shoot. Good weight to it and ball bearing smooth now.
I agree, should you have to send it back in to get it right? No. Am I gonna sit and complain about it? Nope.
