Affordable Surplus – You Can Still Own

Affordable is a matter of opinion. I don't agree with this guy at all.
I remember when gun shows had piles of SKSs at $75 each. Now you can't touch one for under $300. Many go for much higher.
The rest of them are pretty much junk nobody wants.
But the S&W Brazilian Contract 1917 is considered a collectible these days. Good luck finding one of those cheap.

I can remember in my younger ( and foolish ) years , making a comment or two that I didn't want any commi gun. SKSs and other such firearms were dirt cheap and so was the ammo but nope not me. I wasn't buying any of that *%$# !

I sure do wish I could go back in time . 😮

I wish I could go back in time to the early 90's when my gunsmith was contracted by Sarco. He was getting shipping containers full of M1 Garand's from overseas that were coming back from the lend/lease program. His job was to refinish, make sure they had all the same company parts and make sure they had a good barrel.
He was selling them for $125, GOSH I should have bought a hundred of them!!

When I was a kid in L.A., .303 Enfield were $17 at the Army Navy store on Pico Blvd near Westwood. I didn't have the $, so I bought a Carcano for $13 instead. One of the biggest surplus gun dealers in America, Golden State Arms Corp used to be in Pasadena.

Here is how things were with background checks!
