I am asking for a friend he has been out of the buying ammo thing for a while his last gun he purchased was more than 5 years ago he is got the inch to go to the range his question is since he did a purchase of his gun more than 5 years ago is there a fee he has to pay or fill out a different form in California of course any way any information would help thank you

Dunno…. But I’d offer up the suggestion that he simply call a gun shop - assuming that they’re even allowed to sell ammo in Calif - and ask them.
No offense, and maybe I’m misunderstanding, but Why’s he asking you this?

Well I live in California I have no problem buying ammo give them my license and they ask me two questions one where was l born and my phone number and I sigh the paperwork and I am done but once in s gun shop the guy ask me was the last time I bought a gun I said 2 months ago he said no problem you are in the system I think you have to fill out some paperwork if you haven’t purchased a gun in a while not sure you are right just have him call a gun shop thought someone might know about it thanks

Wow ! I never dreamed they’d need anything more than your DL (just to verify your age) for an ammo purchase !!! Totally diff than here - we have no paperwork at all for ammo.

I was in Nevada this week for some r and r their ammo you can grab it yourself wow in California it’s locked up in cabinets you have to ask for help

Demand has leveled off & supply as increased in my area, albeit still well above pre-CV prices. But the BIG 4 (9mm,223,45 & .308 fmj) prices have come down from their peak, but still up there.

Only picking up good priced ammo to replace what I'm expending at my low-level use.

Yes totally agree I notice that myself even in California prices have come down in certain places they are still places that take advantage and put it to you bad but all in all I think supply is better and prices are coming down a little hopefully more in the near future

Yes they have everything when you give them your license all the information is there once you are in the system
