I wish my local police would arrange for roadkill to be picked up like in the story. That damn deer in my yard last year stunk for months. No govt entity would pick it up. My only legal option was calling and paying a disposal specialist several hundred dollars to get it. I let it sit over the winter and picked up the bones in the spring. No bears near here...and the road is too busy for turkey vultures and coyotes to have helped.
 
I’m always amazed that people seem to think wildlife is all Bambi and Thumper-no realizing or understanding that there ARE critters out there who can serious hurt, kill , or even eat YOU. And it doesn’t have to be a bear or mountain lion. A feral dog or two, or a rabid raccoon is just as serious a threat.

I was thinking more “stupid” than “sissy”, but that’s just me. I’ve a granddaughter who’s as feminine and “sissy” as can be, BUT she knows how to handle herself, she’s a decent pistol shot, and can find her way around the woods.😏. No, I think stupid fits our bear encounter girl…

Cover your plates, throw the deer on the hood of your car take it to city hall or the town office and dump it there ;)
