I don’t have any kids, plus all my nieces are older, but I still and will lock my house gun in my Hornady Night Guard safe, best investment I ever made, all others in a regular safe, safety begins at home

Do you carry only handguns with external thumb safeties ? Do you harness yourself into a life line any time you are higher than 6' off the ground on a ladder, per OSHA requirements ?

Your premise is flawed. Some ( Smart) people train enough where some things are muscle memory. If your finger is straight it is almost impossible to engage a trigger.
