Sure you are allowed to have an opinion here. You aren't allowed to make up your own facts and not expect to be challenged on them though. You could start by pointing out WHY Glocks are unsafe, besides the lack of an external, manual safety.

Wow man, you don't like glocks and that's fine. but sheesh, cool off and come back. but any loaded handgun around kids can be manipulated, safety or not. You claim Glocks are one of the most unsafe firearms out there because they have no manual safety.

It's pointed out to you that most striker guns have no safety. You double down.

I ask you what about Glocks makes them less safe than any other striker gun with no safety.

You evade the question 3 times.

For the record, no one is questioning your opinion that you prefer a manual safety. You are not alone, even on this forum there are plenty of guys who won't carry a gun with no safety. And that's okay. It can be trained for. And as I said, everything ain't for everybody. What I think is that someone you know probably had a Glock, failed to secure it properly with kids in the house and their kid got a hold of it and did the unthinkable. If that's the case, I am truly sorry. Tragedy is no laughing matter. And certainly it is understandable that you would think all guns should have safeties. Whether that actually addresses the core issue or not, it is nevertheless understandable. You can't expect random people on a gun forum to be afflicted with your condition though. Can you understand that ? And you can't get around the fact that the Glock is not fundamentally different than most other striker guns and is not any less safe than they are. That is not an opinion, it is a fact. If you will just calm down and think about the entire conversation I'm sure you will come to the conclusion that no one here was attacking you or devaluing your opinion. The disconnect was with your facts.


I hope you stick around because this forum has a good cross section of all types of firearm enthusiasts and represents many, MANY years of experience and near limitless knowledge about things you are most likely very interested in. And it would be nice to have your experience and knowledge added to the collective. And brother, none of us is cool with NDs, especially when they involve kids.

Many a kid has been seriously injured or worse by all types of guns, usually through adult negligence, nothing to do with whether gun had manual safety or not. If a kid can pull a trigger, a kid can disengage a manual safety. That’s why adults are supposed to keep guns away from kids.

I give the folks you’ve been responding to here immense credit for their tremendous restraint. It seems you prefer manual safety guns. However you’ve yet to explain your position that a Glock without a manual safety somehow is less safe than all the other brands without manual safeties (and there are quite a few…Sig Sauer comes to mind, but many other well known and lesser brands as well).

Everyone you’re referring to as morons are far from it, at least that’s what their post history would indicate. They seem to be quite rational folk who have tried to ascertain and/or understand your immense hatred for the Glock brand over other guns that are made the exact same way.

For what it’s worth, there are significant differences of opinions on this site regularly and the vast majority of posters refrain from name calling. Just because someone disagrees with you, it doesn’t mean they are a moron. It simply means they disagree with you. Your opinions are no more absolute than those held by others. As the saying goes, “Everyone is entitled to their own opinion”. And just like there are plenty of folks who disagree with me on various topics, I’m sure there are bound to be various folks who disagree with you occasionally, though in this case it seems to me most are merely requesting clarification on your premise that Glocks are somehow less safe than all other striker fired handguns that don’t have manual safeties.

Some may even agree with you that guns without manual safeties might be less safe than those with manual safeties, though that should apply to all brands, not just Glock.
