More then seeing different lands, am happy to see family again. First my son came down from OR to pick me up and drive me to my hometown of L.A. where I visited with my bro and his family. My bro is a karoke DJ and I had a great time there. Had not seen him in several years. Then I stayed with my cousin where I felt the most comfortable. One day, I visited with a cousin who is originally from AZ, and her father and her brother. I had never met them before. We shared many family stories. It was the best day I had while down there with the exception of my son's daughter flying in from the east coast. I had not seen her for many a year also. While with my AZ cousin, we also exchanged lots of genealogy info and her brother gave me some hard copies of documents which also had info on it for me. Naturally, I yelled out "Eureka!" which I am prone to do whenever I find something new. Then on another day we went over to my oldest son and his family for grilled hamburgers, hot beans, potato salad and much more. It was another great day. I did play tourist one day and went with my youngest and G'daughter to Exposition Park to the museums and walked around the rose garden, taking lots of pictures. While down in L.A., I went shopping and bought a bunch of tamales for my family. Although they have EZ access to them all the time, difficult for me to get really good ones where I live. On the trip down and coming back, we stopped at Schatz's Bakery in Bishop, CA where I always have a great pastrami sandwich. My son and G'daughter left for OR the following day where she can see seeing the sights up there then, they will come back so she can see the Hot August Nights events. Thereafter, she will fly out, back to the East Coast. I really did not see a lot, but family is more important to me.
