until i saw the thread on the other website, i never heard of Cabot guns. which is why i posted that picture and site of that meteor 1911....

in "general ", what is/are the starting prices on thier collection....???

and are they "one of a kind"...???

thanks in advance

The 1911s from Cabot starts around $4500 and go to around $8000+

Not sure on the prices of the "Limited Editions" but I did find this on the Mosaic Damascus

What really sets these guns apart is the steel used in their construction. Made by master blacksmith, Robert Eggerling, the steel is referred to as “Mosaic Damascus” for its altogether unique and intricate patterned appearance. On top of the fact that this is the first time it has ever been applied to a firearm, only four of these sidearms will ever be made. And, of those four, only three will ever be sold to the public — at a price of $29,900 each

i woke up about 1 hour ago, and turned up the heat, as it was 56 degree's in our house...no, we do not want nor have automatic heat, then we'd be burning up too much natural gas, and it's costly, but anyways, when i came here to check out a few threads i subscribed to, i was so floored by the prices, of those guns, i think i created enough body heat to heat up my neighborhood...

they gotta be kidding me, on those prices...right...??

anyone with that much cash for such a gun, would have to be bonkers to shoot them for more than say 1 magazine's worth, if to just "test them out", then wrap them in high dollar silk, and placed into a mink "glove", and stored away in a fully climate controlled safe...

but then again, those that have THAT amount of cash, just have to have what they want, no matter the cost.

Merry Christmas, to all the rest of us, that actually buy "sensibly priced" guns, and use them, for the fun they provide us, rather than hide them, and only take them out once every 27 years.

"Cabot Guns is the answer to that “what if” question gun nuts most often ponder when the Powerball lottery gets above $300 million. Specifically, the question is: “If money were no object, what would I build (or have built) as my dream handgun?”"

well that and if they want a "hedge" on inflation maybe..??

they very well may hold thier value, but unless another collector likes the exact model, will a collector still buy it "just because"?

i'd rather invest in land, or some other more profitable venture, than a high dollar gun, that frankly, i'd me worried about getting stolen, in a random burglary.
