I remember it. Danger Will Robinson.

The new Netflix series with Molly Parker is much better.
i don't pay for any extra subscriptions. so i don't get that, or Hulu or anything.

my cable plan is high enough.

all that being said, i typically do not like remakes or do-overs...or pre-quills, or a franchise (aka Friday the 13th, Fast and Furious, etc)

to me, the first originals are the best, hokey special effects and all.

the original Buck Rogers tv shows, with Buster Crabbe as Buck, you can actually see the "strings", on the rocket ship, flying in space...lol

I rewatched the entire original series of Lost In Space on Hulu earlier this year. That show is painfully bad in terms of writing and props but for some morbid curiosity I found myself watching the entire series with a few episodes every night.

The series was cancelled and sadly ended abruptly without a proper true ending just like my favorite show of all time Married With Children.

I watched the entire series when it was first aired. Star Trek appeared the next year, and the special effects between the two was quite substantial. LIS effects were hooky, but so were the Outer Limits, and as a kid, I found Outer Limits much scarier than the Twilight Zone which I also watched when they both first aired. I also liked the British TV series UFO (SHADO and all ), hooky effect that lasted the one season between 1970-1971, but it was fun to watch.

Sheldon Cooper of "Big Bang Theory" made several calls to the studio execs on why Alf was cancelled without a proper ending....

should we put in a call to Sheldon for Lost in Space as well????

that's the way it as way back then...budgets were either tight from the studios or the execs just needed to "fill in time slots" before or after thier hit shows, to keep the people watching for the next program .

then too, new people were going into the business with little to no apprenticeships, meaning anything from acting, to lighting to special effects were indeed...hokey.

but, those were also "simpler times"......no gang violence on the news, no ANTIFA, no defund the police, and Betty Crocker and Aunt Jemima, and Mr. Clean all ruled the tv commercials.

The idea behind Netflix, Hulu, YouTube TV, Disney+, Paramount, etc.. is to ditch cable. Which I did 3 years ago. I pay about 10% now of what cable was costing me and I can pretty much watch anything I want, on demand.

We're not really into TV. Never watch the news or prime time TV. Mostly sci-fi, Jeopardy or movies.

i gave up on Disney some time ago, i just did not like the direction they were going in.

Well obviously budget plays a huge factor on how much can be spent on Special Effects (Outer Limits is a good example of this, as I saw a documentary on how they had to go about to create theirs cheaply). But there was technology available at the time to have very good SFX. Star Trek (TOS) proved this as did the 1956 movie "Forbidden Planet" which won an Academy Award for their Special Effects (as well as first introduction of Robbie the Robot)

if it as all the way it used to be...."family orientated".......over the years, Disney branched out to what me and the wife consider to be..."adult stuff"......

can't have the little ones here for an over nighter or two, and have any of that stuff on.

so they get HBO/Starz family channels.
Disney plus is NOT the same as The Wonderful World of Disney. Furthermore Disney as a company totally pisses me off. Nevertheless, they air some cool stuff that I enjoy and the fact is that I am not paying for it. We share passwords with a couple different family members.
