Hello folks, looking for some opinions, as to what fiber optic rod size to use for accurate shooting from 50 to 100 yards. yes, I understand smaller is better. just looking for someone that may have some first hand knowledge..

I used to have a similar one on my Colt M4 about the size of the "Match" model listed above. To be honest, at 50 yards I had a very hard time picking it out. Now, having said that, I'm completely open to the fact my eyes are not very good at all, but once I switched to a tritium green colored front sight, it was like night and day. The green, for me at least, seemed to be much easier to pick up. Flip the coin on that, for handguns, at closer ranges, I run green rear sights and red front sights....go figure...lol
 
Whether it be post or wire my preference is thinner for best view. On 1 of my iron/poly sight setups I have a 2x optic mounted between and it works crazy good. I think it cost $50 , but it has an amber lens. It looks funny, but function well. I don't even keep a battery in it.
