AR-15 SAINT VICTOR FAILURES

I have a Springfield DM 9mm that I really love; just overall a great gun. So when I wanted to buy an AR-15, I thought I would go with Springfield. However, after seeing this review from the Honest Outlaw, I stopped the purchase. Has anyone had this experience of failures? Please let me know what you think...maybe Honest Outlaw got a lemon, but even so, for $1000 the gun should work on just about any ammo. Here is the review:

Personally, I never pay attention to any online gun test videos, I will ask around, friends, fellow shooters and such, those videos are just for how many likes and such they get, more likes mean more advertising dollars. Just my thoughts

My 2 saint victors in 5.56 and .308 have been flawless, and I run them hard in the fields.
Mud, rain, and they have been dropped a few times, plus launched from a damn ATV mount that broke when we hit a ditch.

I have nothing but great things to say about my Saint AR’s. Never failed me once on quality. Had a bad batch of ammo and that was only hiccup but it was ammo, not gun as the ammo failed in 2 other brand ar’s.

I seen this too. But decided to get my 308 anyway. COULDN'T ASK FOR MORE.

Every new gun works great until it doesn't. That's when you find out how well companies take care of customer issues. A few of the members here have had problems with a Springfield product, but most found Springfield to be efficient in addressing their issues in a timely manner. If one is buying something more expensive than bubble gum a search for product satisfaction and customer service is a must.

I've bought 3 of their Saint Victor's. The .300 Blackout runs flawless, the 9mm PCC runs flawless, My .308 however, was a complete piece of **** and I ended up getting rid of it (After sending it to SA 3 times for repairs). I like Honest Outlaw and his reviews but I think he got a lemon in that review. I wouldn't let it sway your decision. If you are still turned off on their 5.56 version, look at the Sig M400 Tread. That's what I have for 5.56 and I love it.

I think anyone who bases purchase decisions on a UToob channel is a bit…silly.

If you have one you like, go for it.

FWIW, I do not own a Saint, nor do I expect to—ever. If I buy another AR variant, it’ll be an HK…and even then, I’m on the fence.

Having worked for decades in IT in manufacturing A certain percentage of ANYTHING manufactured is going to have issues. Even the very best have issues. Quality control cannot find every issue with every item. That's where customer service comes in.

Yes, some will be worse than others and in some cases there will usually be widespread complaints, example the Remington R51, they just never got that thing right.

But to base your entire purchase/no purchase on the sole opinion of some self proclaimed internet expert is, well perhaps a bit hasty. Really, you do not know this person, you do not know his bias, you do not know if he has an ax to grind. I remember a time you NEVER trusted buying something at any place called Honest Bob's.

Overall I have heard few negatives about the Saint from anyone I know and do trust.

Thanks for the feedback, folks. Since Springfield has a lifetime warranty, I went ahead and bought the Saint Victor/Hex Dragonfly package. I watched a dozen reviews (you can never have too much data to make a good decision) and talked to my friends, nobody has had any problems...so Honest Outlaw must have got a lemon.
