I can't remember where everyone lives ... what state would this be?yeah, i went to the mom/pop bait/gun store, the owner said the state slipped in an additional BS crap, that anyone buying a BB gun must get it from an FFL now.
i asked, "what about paintball guns"?
owner said, "metal projectile guns".....
and the frigging fun never stops.
I can imagine some of them are but does that really warrant the federal government getting involved with BB guns. Absolutely not. They are no major threat, or threat at all to society. If you haven't kept up with "BB guns" in the last few years, you might be amazed at how good some of them are.
This isn't the fed gov, this is some state--probably/seems to be New Jersey.I can imagine some of them are but does that really warrant the federal government getting involved with BB guns. Absolutely not. They are no major threat, or threat at all to society.
I have a full auto one and in no way would take it hunting or consider it a weapon. would it hurt to get shot with it? sure. deadly no, Now there are some pellet rifles that are totally bad ass.If you haven't kept up with "BB guns" in the last few years, you might be amazed at how good some of them are.
RI, and i tried looking it up, but could not find it, but being an FFL, he knew about it, which even surprised himI can't remember where everyone lives ... what state would this be?
and in the sporting goods dept of my local walmart, where i get my targets, there is or maybe now was a shelf WITH Red Ryder BB guns...That's just nuts. so they think people will commit mass murder with a red ryder.
yes and in RI they are considered firearms as well, but the lawmakers recently added them to the FFL list.Pellet/bb guns and air rifles are all considered “firearms” in nj and require an ffl.
well actually, we have had several police depts here get calls on drive by shootings or punks walking with them shooting BB's at people, cars, buildings in past months.I can imagine some of them are but does that really warrant the federal government getting involved with BB guns. Absolutely not. They are no major threat, or threat at all to society.
the gun shoots metal projectiles.”Metal projectile gun”…does the prohibition mean the gun is metal or the projectile is metal?
Plenty of things are capable of launching a projectile.
How jurisdictions can amend the FFL process for Non-firearms is unknown to me, but there are local ordinances for sure. Firearm by definition is firing a projectile by explosion.
Does an FFL use some sort of differnent form for BB/Pellet and Starter pistols? Is there some checkbox and are air guns required to have serial numbers?
There are some heavy hitting and expensive air rifles out there of varmint hunting. And some vicious urban critters use bb guns to commit crimes.
Ban BB guns… get these eye put’r-out’rs out our communities!
How long would it have taken Ralphie to save up for the FFL fee?
i was told this is how the RI one is set up.In NJ if I wanted a handgun airgun i would have to apply through the state police then through my township for the same permit as if i were getting a regular handgun.
If i wanted an air rifle it would have to be sent to an ffl and before taking possession i’d have to fill out a “certificate of eligibility” form.
Yup. That’s my state.
