In regard to the armory article, Mash was not the first TV show about that chopper. That show was "Whirly Birds! Bell models 47G and 47J Ranger which look just like the Korean war model appeared in a TV show from January 1957-1960. The stars where Kenneth Toby and Craig Hill who owned a helicopter business doing all kinds of neat things. I enjoyed it very much!! There were 111 episodes
Another chopper made the movies in "The Bridges of Toko-Ri, 1954. That starred William Holden, Grace Kelly and Fredrick March and Mickey Rooney. The Author of this war movie was James A. Michener no less.
The aircraft in this movie was the Grumman F9F-2 Panther but the helicopter was the Sikorsky HO3S. There may be other early shows but I do not know what they are.
