I might move it to the practice squad and try to figure out the failure, but for now the Myerco once again is in a very familiar spot on my pocket.
I carried a Bolt Action for close to 30 years I guess, the myerco version for at least 10. They have always been utterly reliable and easily ambidextrous. The Benchmade took its place three years ago until the Microtech took top place 2 years ago. But the Bugout rode edc in my work pants around the homestead since then, until this morning.
Got dressed went out and was doing chores, reached in pocket to get knife and fingertips, darn lucky, lightly brushed against a very sharp bare edge. Dang I shivered thinking how bad that could have been.
I have heard over the years about the biggest danger with tip up carry is occasionally, rarely, the blade can get opened in the pocket. Now I will admit being the knife nut so long I arrogantly put it down to user error, they probably loosened the pivot, I on the other hand slightly tightened the pivot. It would not happen to me, until it did...
This has me a bit wary, hell very wary, why, how, damn that could have been bad. So, back to the reliable tip down Myerco. At the very least until I figure it out, if I do..
