Seen one for sale at Cheaper than Dirt $269.00. Are they that bad? Not a fan of brand or store but does anyone here have one and are they any good.
Yeah, if you can stomach giving CTD your money. I won't. If they've got it, chances are someone else has it for the same price or cheaper.I don't have the APX Carry (which I believe is a single stack, and I think @10mmLife also owns the Version 1). I own the APX Centurion (which is a double stack 15 round capacity). I wanted the Compact (which the Centurion was before they came out with a Compact version (13 rounds)). But since this platform is modular (I believe they competed in the Military Modular Handgun System contest won by Sig Sauer), I just bought the Compact grip module and some 13 round mags to swap out with the Centurion grip module. I'm happy with my APX and I agree that the price specified here seems good for the APX Carry A1.
I wrote the price was good (as reported by the OP in this thread), nothing about buying it from CTD. I'd use the price as a comparison if the OP wanted to buy there or elsewhere, that's all.Yeah, if you can stomach giving CTD your money. I won't. If they've got it, chances are someone else has it for the same price or cheaper.
Never shopped there, but if they're bad then I'll take you guy's word for it.Yeah i would not buy anything from cheaper than dirt!
They are the worst as far as price gouging goes. The first ones to jack their prices up dramatically and to take advantage of or invent a scare buying frenzy. During the pandemic when prices were already very high they were always higher than everyone else, sometimes very much higher.Never shopped there, but if they're bad then I'll take you guy's word for it.
Thanks for the heads up, guess I'll try to find that price somewhere else. They are the worst as far as price gouging goes. In my opinion they rate just below Dick's Sporting Goods and Walmart.
I use to buy firearms accessories from them when I first embarked on my gun buying collecting (2012, and I'm not even sure if CTD sold firearms at that time). They use to ship from different warehouses located in different States that sometimes had different prices, and it was a pain trying to select items from numerous warehouses to get the lowest price. It got even more difficult when they offered free shipping for an item at one warehouse, but not that same item in another warehouse, and trying to consolidate your order from that one warehouse to get free shipping, but still at the lowest price (meaning some items in your order were cheaper at other warehouses, but not with the free shipping).Never shopped there, but if they're bad then I'll take you guy's word for it.
I have the original full size I want the A1 carry.I would steer clear of the original APX carry unless you like a really long heavy trigger and what seems like an even longer reset. The A1 model supposed to have a much better trigger.
The APX line in itself is a good line especially for the money except for the original APX carry.
I guess you need to get one before the rebates end!I have the original full size I want the A1 carry.
The original full size has a much better trigger than the original carry.I have the original full size I want the A1 carry.
Thanks, I'm still deciding right now.I have the APX Centurion and the full size APX A1. Both are good guns, but the APX A1 has become one of my favorite full size handguns. I've heard good things about the A1 Carry. The only reason I don't have one is that I like my S&W Shield Plus, so I don't need another small 9mm right now.
Like most of the people here, I avoid CTD. I bought a few things from their brick & mortar store in McKinney, TX. The store was nice, but I quit doing business with them when they started price-gouging before the 2012 election. The last time I went in before the store closed, they were asking over $20 for 50 round boxes of Remington .22 LR.
If you like the APX A1 Carry, Gun Zone Deals currently has them for $319 + $20 shipping (no sales tax to most states), Tin Star Shooting Range has them for $347 shipped (also no tax to most states), and Dack Outdoors has them for $333 + $20 shipping (also no tax to most states). After the $100 rebate, all of these sellers beat CTD by at least $20. They all have a much better reputation than CTD.
