I had a 1201FP, the 1301 is every bit as sweet as its predecessor. I haven't seen this new model, I have the 1301 in OD green. I really like it.

I just picked up the 1301 Tactical in Marine. Seems they've taken the fun out of trying to find scarce aftermarket addons for it.

I wouldn't call 11-1400 affordable. That and there is no comparison to the M4. There is nothing like the M4. It's a combination of gas and inertia drive. The 1301 is strictly gas, but lightning fast.

The new semis won't short stroke on you under stress though. Just something to ponder.

I have shot a shotgun for 50 years, never short stroked one. A pump will run any shell, even ones that will choke semis. And I have seen plenty of semis fail over those years. Don't trust em, period

The two compare favorably. Depends on one's budget and needs.

More than happy to use one on a partridge hunt, a round of sporting clays, but I won't risk my wife's or the life of my grand kids on one.

Everything ain't for everybody brother that's for sure. That said I am a long time shotgunner and I would trust my life to one. Especially if that one was a Benelli or a Beretta.

I have and use both. I have never short stroked a pump, but I have had them fail. In fact my 500 failed on the range this past Sunday. It can happen with any gun. You gotta run them until you know them and how they operate backwards and forwards. Just like a carry pistol.

$1400 for a high quality semi auto shotgun is affordable. A comparably equipped Benelli M1014 will set you back at least $2500
