Not all of Vortex is. Some of them are made in the US and the glass is imported from Germany or Japan.

My next one may not be a Vortex, but it will be made in the US.

Almost all Leupold rifle scopes are still made in Oregon. High end Vortex are US made, but I think anything below a Razor is made in Asia.

Yep. And the Razor no longer has German glass. It’s now from Japan.

The Japanese do well. I have nothing but love for my couple Strike Eagles. My serious rifles, though, get Mark 4 or Mark 5 HDs.

They’re definitely top of the heap in Asian manufacturing. I wouldn’t have any issues with a Vortex with Japanese glass.
