Remember this quite well, long time ago.

I know it was a single-shot with a magazine, but how on Earth could you fit .308 cartridges in that grip (much less anything longer than .45-Colt)?

I'm guessing the larger rifle calibers were single-shot only....no mag...

Yes no mag. The magazine well was used to accomodate the locking mechanism.
