Budget 1911 that actually works flawlessly right out the box

So this morning I went to gun store to actually buy ammo, when I walking pass the gun counter I always find myself looking at 1911s like always wishing I could bring myself to pay the 900+ price for one. Well today that changed when I saw one for $400 . The brand was SDS Imports ( Tisas ), a Turkish company. Well I bought it; my first 1911, took to the family's land out in the county and fired 100rds through it with no problems. Bring it home cleaned it so next time it will be as great.

Tisas also makes an authentic USGI 1911 vs. the SA one that really deviates from the original pattern in several ways.

I still haven't found one of their 1911's in stores, but I did pick up a Tisas Beretta 84 clone (Fatih 13) last week. The tolerances were tight and the materials appear to be very high quality. Mine had a small scratch on the barrel, so the finish wasn't perfect, but the gun sells for less than half of the Beretta version. It was incredibly accurate and ran flawlessly for the 100 rounds of FMJ I put through it. I'd have shot more, but .380 ammo is pricey these days.

If Tisas uses the same level of materials and workmanship on their 1911's that they do on the Fatih 13, then I wouldn't hesitate to buy one.

I have both the ria and the tisas, I like the tisas better cause it's forged not casted like the ria. Both shoot well but the tisas is definitely more robust and better made.

My ffl has been raving about Tisas 1911’s for about a year now. He keeps mentioning that he has sold tons of them and has never heard of one going back for repair. I’ve been impressed with the Turkish stuff I’ve tried, especially the Canik products. I’m not a big 1911 guy, but I wouldn’t hesitate to buy a Tisas 1911 if I found the right deal.

I have their carry model. Fired a while today; no probs whatsoever.

Nice. I’ve heard some of the Turkish 1911’s are pretty decent for the money.

I’ve also had great experiences with RIA 1911’s.

I saw several of those this last Saturday at an area gun show, Hans. They seemed well built, action seemed to cycle nicely and a couple I looked at had some nice sights on them. You've shot them before? Price on them wasn't too bad, wasn't really in the market to buy this weekend, just browsing but I was impressed by some of the Ria 1911's...off topic but they also had a .308 carbine with a 10-round box max mounted with a 3.5-10x50 Leupold scope for $1100.00 that I REALLY wanted to buy. It was an interesting looking rifle, made by Remington, kind of reminded me of the old 742 Woodsmaster Carbine my old man carried for decades except it was colored up dark OD green. It looked like a very competent and accurate rifle for how short it was. I should have took a damn pic, which I meant to then got distracted.

I have a CD ( Armscor) that hasn't had anything done to it except a little polishing on the feed ramp. It fires every time, accurately.
