Burdette holster for Hellcat RDP

I have a Burdette holster for a Hellcat OSP and it fits great.
Just bought a Hellcat RPD. The comp at the front of the firearm prevents it from being inserted completely into the holster.
I did email Burdette but never received a reply.
I want to reshape the holster slightly at the bottom end so that the comp will completely seat in the holster.
The comp will extend past the leather but I don't think that will be an issue.
Any suggestions on how to soften and reshape the leather at the bottom half inch or so of the holster.
Has anyone done this?

Okay, I'll answer myself.
I wet the bottom .5 inch of the holster so it flexed a little.
Wrapped the comp with plastic, inserted the pistol in the holster. Voila...it went in as expected. The comp protrudes about 5/8 inch from the end of the holster.
Perfect.

That's basically how I mold my sheaths for the knives I make. Except I rub grease over the blade first because I had one carbon blade rust while it was drying overnight.

Welcome to the forum oktom,
Many good people here a few other assorted creatures :) and lots to explore, is a good place, have a great time!
Glad you got your holster adjustment figured out quickly. (y)(y) Wrapping gun with plastic while sitting in damp holster is a plus.
