Can 5.56mm ammunition be safely fired in a .223 Remington Steyr Scout?

Company’s like CZ actually state that 5.56mm is safe to fire in their .223 REM rifles.

Surely it would be in any manufacturer’s interest to state for the record whether it is safe or not.

The answer to your question is.......perhaps.
Do you want to risk finding out for sure?
I would not trust a website for the positive answer.
The no reply from Steyr may be poor customer service, or their way of saying "no".
I know; pressures, tolerances and so on are close.....BUT, technically, 5.56mm and .223 are two different calibre's.
And the Cardinal rule is.........don't mix calibre's !
