Can I find out when my new XD 40 was manufactured by my serial number?

Welcome to the forum from Kentucky,
I would call Springfield CS and ask, is it a brand new gun or just new to you? Don’t forget to register for warranty work if ever needed.
 
If yours has the spent shells in the box they show the date when final tested.
