Changing the muzzle brake on the Saint Victor 5.56

I apparently bought a Magpul armorer's wrench thinking it would be able to remove the stock muzzle device.

It seems like the brake is a bit too fat for it.

Any other way to switch it out and also is it difficult or easy to doing it?

With the rig solidly in the vise, apply the blowtorch for a bit of expansion (till the tip end of the barrel glows red) and with a pipe wrench she will come right off (if you are turning in the right direction).

Looks like there may be a set screw to loosen. Otherwise, it looks as though it should come loose with a socket or wrench.

Crescent wrench.

Don’t see any set screws on it, just ports.

Make sure you have the barrel in a vice or have the whole upper on a receiver block.

The 2 little holes are also ports, not set screw holes. Crescent wrench is probably the best choice unless you happen to have a custom 8 sided deep well socket.

Is a Magpul Bevblock and a vise with the wrench enough and should I take the handguard off or leave it on as I seen some people take it off and others leave it on?

That should work, no need to remove the handguard.

Well as an update, I couldn't remove the muzzle myself and managed to find a gunsmith who managed to change it, however it took a lot of effort to remove and then replace it with the new one.

Sometimes you just need to have a decent sized cheater bar. Thanks for the update.
