Charlie Hustle died

MLB makes millions on on-line gambling.

Pete Rose bet on his own team and is banned from the HOF ?
Guess he should have gotten a license 😉

Not a sport in the world that does not go ape **** over sports betting and the possible throwing of a game.
Athletes and Refs.

Biggest dont you f—king dare of the sports world.

He did. Got caught.
He knew the consequences .

Like saying it was cool for any athlete in history to bet on their own sport

Come on folks.

His career was exceptional.
He knew damn well when he places his bets the consequences.
He had to face them

The problem with betting on your own games is that you have some ability to control the outcome. In this case you're cheating all of the other bettors.

Oh I know it was against the rules for him to bet on baseball and so did he. What gripes me is there are plenty of guys in the HoF who used steroids, or beat their wife, or any number of things that were also against the rules of baseball and polite society, but there they are.

He was an absolute delight to observe on the ballfield, playing the great game as intended, always giving his all. I'll not expound upon his utter fall from sports grace, or his life afterward.

I don't say he should or should not have been reinstated, just that i always thought they would. I was always a Tigers fan, never paid much attention to the Reds lol.

Did just look and there is no way anyone is touching his record which is why kind of figured they would let him back probably. Just glancing thru i do not see a single player i can tell still playing the game within 1500 hits. Albert Pujoles was about 900 away but looks like he retired in 22.
