College QB 8 Million for two years.

College/university has become a joke all around. It is a business. They are more concerned with amenities (gyms, starbucks on campus, high-end dorms, etc…) to attract student rather than staying true to the true intent of education. I have worked in academia for more than 20 years and it is really sad to see the administration prioritize enrollment numbers and athletics over the core mission.
Don’t even get me started on foreign students…

I don't mind the concept. College sports, especially football and basketball, are big money items. I don't have a problem with the athletes making some money for their product.
But I don't think it's being handled correctly

I have a close friend of mine which will remain nameless who worked directly with athletes at Villanova for years. It was understood that academics was SECOND and sports was first. Fast forward, he completed his career at Princeton and it was understood that academics was FIRST and sports were second. Go figure...

I mean, if the university is paying him $8 million dollars over the course of his education they're certainly making more than that off of him.

More power to him.
