Colt Commander or CZ 75B Retro?

Odd question for an SA forum, I know, but which would you rather have strictly for range use - a Colt Combat Commander 9mm or a CZ 75B retro?
For a dedicated range pistol I'd go CZ before the commander but if there was a 3rd option it would be the CZ 75 SP-01 tactical as it's roughly in the same price range as the retro and it has a much more muted recoil feel to it due to the full sized solid steel frame coming in close to 3lbs loaded.

Not an odd question for here at all, likely one of the more normal ones. :) - Hard saying in some ways though, both very nice HG's. Likely personal choice and may depend on what type of range use too. Colt SAO / holds 9+1 9mm. CZ DA? 9mm DA/SA and holds 16+1

The 75 Retro has been a limited production model.

Since it replicates that original external configuration (It's still a "B" inside) those that are "75" fans find it desireable. Especially since the squared off trigger guard is cosmetic vs. functional (unless you have monkey-fingers).

For all around use would go with the CZ 75B. But, like the Colt too.
CZ 75B LINK:

It's a "B" with the exterior look of the pre-B.

BTW - pre-Bs have enough dimensional differences that they use the magazines made for them either original or newly made spefically for the pre-B model.

"B" mags won't insert properly in an original "pre-B" but with the "retro" version, "B" mags will work fine.

But then again, there is the cz p01 omega. Small cc size, rail, larger capacity, and capable of both decocker and cocked and locked carry.

I'm not sure why, but I've always wanted a Colt 1911. I'm not a huge 1911 fan, and am perfectly happy with my Springfield Mil-Spec 1911, but Colt has always been linked to the 1911 in my mind. I think the CZ-75 line are all great guns, but I'd pick the Colt. Luckily, I live in a place where it is possible to own both.

One thing which may affect my decision is that I have always been a great admirer of the 1911 platform. I marvel at how JMB dreamed up a little machine which is so efficient and, yet, so simple. I think it's probably the only platform which I really understand and am not leery of taking apart and putting back together. (I don't usually even have any parts left over.)

The Sig P226 might be of interest. There are many used ones for sale and prices are not off the chart.
