Colt Commander or CZ 75B Retro?

Technically, yes.

But it’s completely separate production facilities.
I figured that with CZ taking ownership of Colt at the beginning of this past year that the QC department would have got a kick in the pants to improve on the failing standards. I know this typically takes time to do so if not now maybe it will happen within the following year.

Never really grasped the idea of a "Range Only" weapon unless you are a competition shooter. I even carry my WWII era Colt M1911A1 on occasion. Usually open carry when in the woods or conceal with a shoulder holster under winter wear. Not to say there is anything wrong with it, its just not me, I use everything I own.

Same here.

All my earn their keep, unless they're collectables.

Wellll, I don't hunt. I'm not a LEO. My "carry" gun is a .38 Special snubbie (in a Robert Mika pocket holster), and I've just about quit robbing liquor stores. I try to go to the range once a week. So I guess mine are "range guns", yes.

I think so as well and in agreement with @HansGruber comment.

Look at the LE902 rifle series for Law Enforcement. They even changed all those up to diff quality barrels, etc …
I don’t see anything wrong with Colt, my shop can’t keep any in stock, in fact Colt is there number 1 seller. All gun manufacturers have issues from time to time, they all do…. I have had more issues with S&W then any others, if an issue does occur, the manufacturer will take care of it, but I don’t try to tell anyone not to look or get one because of my experience with them like this thread is doing about Colt, everyone has an opinion, I know this, plus you can’t believe all the internet crap you see about any gun, just my opinion like it or not, I don’t believe in trying to sway someone from something they may like.

No issues with Colt.
I own several of their rifles.

What I am saying is they have changed some of their materials for the rifles based on their new code numbers/name for the product and info on their spec sheets.

Still high quality firearms, just changed their level of QC based on the loss of military contracts to be more in line with other civilian AR makers such as Springfield, Ruger, Sig.

I would and will continue to buy Colt.
