Opinions welcomed. Criminals don't care about the law, so why are the law abiding citizens of America having to pay for a "permit" to conceal carry?. I refuse to pay someone to tell me I can conceal when they run background checks to buy a gun. It's Unconstitutional.
In North Carolina you can open carry with no permit, no background check, classes, finger printing or charge. To conceal you pay about $200.00, take an 8 hour class, finger printed and background check. What about this makes any sense?. Are other states like this?.

Here in Illinois we have to take a 16 hour class to include shooting 30 rounds on a B-27 target . Shoot 10 rounds at 5 yards , 10 rounds at 7 yards , and 10 rounds at 10 yards.

The 16 hour course will cost you at least $200.00 up to $300.00 depending what part of the state. After passing the training you apply for the license to carry. The cost for the license is $150.00 and is good for 5 years.

To renew your license you have to take a 3 hour class that will cost you at least $50.00 to include the same shooting qualification and then pay the cost of renewal license which is $150.00 again.

Our gun buster ( no carry allowed ) signs are enforceable also .

I don’t understand the rationale behind concealed carry being subject to additional hoops/expense while open carry is not.
NJ does not have open carry and barely has concealed carry. I just got my ccw permit yesterday. It took about 2 months from start to finish and cost $150 in local fees, $50 in state fees, $150 for the 3 hour use of force class and live fire qualification. My permit is valid for 2 years at which point I have to re-qualify at the cost of another $150.
Even if NJ had open carry I don’t think I would.

Welcome to the forum.

Currently there are 27 states who have "Constitutional Carry". That is any person legally allowed to possess a firearm can conceal and carry at will.

I will not ask the government for permission to exercise my god given, constitutionally protected rights.

Very true and if you live in Mecklenburg County you also must show the sheriff proof of a recent colonoscopy. The renewal process takes 2-3 months and a new permit up to 6 months.

Actually, it makes perfect sense if you think about the process not the outcome. The process is that we have a whole :poop:pile of people that make rules, reg.s and laws that not only don't have a clue, but they also don't even suspect there is one. So, they pile on sections, sub-sections, were as and what nots, to justify their position and paycheck.;):mad:🤬 Ranks right up there with, at 18 you can go fight and die for your country, but you can't buy a beer or cigarette.:rolleyes:o_O
 
In .Michigan there is classroom instruction, shooting qualifications and a fee for concealed carry.

There is an open carry option but I do not so, except when woods wandering. So it's the only game in town and will only change if enough citizens insist on it changing by thier voting, which i do not see happening any time soon. So unless we do something, in my opinion, very foolish and let the feds regulate CC, it's the only game in town now.

That's worse than NC. As for the sign, my constitutional rights DO NOT STOP AT ANYONES DOOR.
