Democrat introduces bill banning nearly ALL semi-auto firearms in Ohio

I've never heard of a gun killing a human being all by itself before... If there was a ban on idiots, the population would drop substantially. If only...
+1. Guns don't kill people, people kill people and that's where ridiculous starts. My biggest pet peeve are these businesses/public places/convenience stores that put up "no weapons" signs. Quite frankly that just scares the hell out of me because law abiding citizens. like myself will leave there weapon in the car. Do they think that a posted sign is going to deter someone who is hell bent on holding the place up, and that being unarmed and helpless is a desirable condition!!? To the contrary, you just old that crook there is no danger to them whatsoever, c'mon in. I speak from a true real life experience, I had a cousin working in a convenience store who was held up, she did everything the crook told her to do, it was all on camera and he still shot and killed her!! Our Government needs a wake-up call.

These (no guns allowed) policies are sometimes insurance-driven btw...not necessarily the mid-set of the business' employees or management (other than mgt choosing an insurer that requires this policy...so there's that).

What's your point? Mine is that by putting up a sign like the one I mentioned gives crooks/robbers/murders the advantage, regardless of whether the owner/management/insurance company or whoever puts the sign up, it doesn't matter who did it.

Every time a discussion similar to this comes up I ask the same question

"How many times do they have to tell you they want to disarm you before you believe they want to disarm you?"

If you're paying attention to states around the country these bills that are being introduced in various state legislatures are identical.

They're being funded and written by Bloomberg and Soros and every town which is also Bloomberg funded. It's a plan.

When I got to Colorado in 1992 it was a red state and we had good gun laws. Open carry was legal. Private Sales were legal. There was no State magazine ban. There was no waiting period. And the best thing was we had State preemption. No municipality in Colorado could make a city ordinance that was more powerful than state law with regards to guns.

But more people from California kept coming to colorado. They started with something called "Home Rule".

The Home Rule law was that if your municipality was incorporated before Colorado became a state and before the Colorado state constitution was ratified you could override the State Constitution and state law in matters deemed to be important to your municipality. Denver did away with open carry immediately.

Now you have to know where you're at what specific laws are, my Glock 19 is legal in Colorado Springs but it's not legal in Boulder.

And the more people to get here from California and the more people that graduated from our Republican doctrination centers formerly known as schools the more blue the state gets and the more Draconian our gun laws get.

This is the plan and I promise you it's coming to your state too

Thanks for the post Night Rider. That "Home Rule" is about the craziest thing I ever heard of. I'm from Iowa, not saying it won't happen but we have the right people in the right places with a lot of gun owners.

There is no specific point. It's a discussion about a topic and I added a comment. If you don't like or agree with fine, but I know what I posted is 100% correct. Some retailers and businesses that wouldn't normally post such a sign do so because their insurance carrier forces them to do so. Not everyone may know that, and I find it important to develop a reasoned opinion on the matter.

A doctor I went to had that sign in his window. I carry anyway as it doesn't apply to retired LEOs in AZ under a statute similar to LEOSA. I asked the doctor if he was anti-2A, he said his insurance company required it. I told him I was carrying and he lifted his sweater to reveal his Glock 19. His entire office staff carry as well and he sent them all to Gunsite for training. (y)
