I drove one of these several times, picking it up, and dropping off, at a customers house when I worked in the body shop in college.

It was stylish, beautiful, confortable ride, and a wicked beast to drive.

Trust me, it was no Hi Point

I would say it's biggest fault was it was easy to underestimate because of its size. But I was used to that as my first car was a 1968 Pontiac Gran Prix Sport just like this one. Was so stupid for selling that car.

Full size muscle was a big thing before the GTO. Then shortly after the Mustang brought smaller, cheaper muscle to the masses. Frankly, I was always a Pony Car guy. A 67 Fastback with three at the knee and a warmed up 289. Sharp eyes will also notice the 66 Notchback in front of it. And the Mopar wheels...I was restoring a 1971 Challenger Convertible, 383 Magnum and a slap stick, factory purple car. Anyway, I was done with the wheels and they had radial white letter tires instead of bias ply tires so of course I put them on the Mustang. Good time to be Eric!

I did dabble a bit with the bigger Muscle...68 Suicide Door Thunderbird with the 429 Interceptor engine. In the 1980's I had a suit and tie job and no adult supervision. Girls, cars,

guns and motorcycles occupied my off work hours!

Of course, when I was sanding that $275 dollar MG Midget when I was in High School and my Father was teaching me how to work on cars it seemed plenty big then! You can see that Emberglow 1966 Mustang in the background, my first car.
