Dire Wolf and Timber Wolf

I believe it’s time to get a better handgun for the next time I go trekking into Wolf Country 🤔
For those who may not know, scientists have successfully cloned the DNA of a Dire wolf into a Gray Wolf. There are now 3 pups that are alive and well and are getting bigger every day 😳

When I was much younger and at a duty station I left one of the housing building and saw some visitors with what looked to me was a large grey wolf with them. It was BIG.

I was amazed and met up with them & their large 4-legged "pet". It was very friendly like a reg dog and they said it was a cross with a very high % of wild wolf in it. It must have gotten it's friendly demeanor from the minor amount of domestic DNA.

I live in an area were wild wolves are common but I rarely have encountered them. I'm sure more have seen me when I was out & about.

I saw the Dire wolf report on the news yesterday & it will be interesting how that experiment turns out.

When I was a Drill Sergeant at Fort Benning, one of the Range NCO’s from the 29th Inf raised Wolf Hybrids. They were HUGE😳

Just because they could do it doesn't mean they should have. Morals and ethics apparently played no part in the experiment. Did they ask ranchers and farmers for their input?

The pups were cute but that doesn't matter if they're turned loose to prey on livestock.
