Discontinued Springfield Model You Miss Most

$300-400K easily if I got what I wanted to buy last 25 years
Prob would need a whole room.

But, as it is, I got married and spent 1000000000000000000x that on “stuff” for the house and isnt that cute, oh and lets go to see this state, and ooooohhhh look at that shiny bling, and the kids need new shoes, and what about college savings …. And , and , and ….. 😩😩😩😩😩😩🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😍😍😍😜😜😜😜
So you mean life. 😁😎

I'd have to agree with the OP...the Mod. 2 frame was fantastic.

My first was a subcompact in .45 that I picked up for under $400 when the lineup was discontinued. I could have purchased a fullsize 4" for the same money and really wished I did.

I ended up finding a decent deal on a lightly used 4" in 9MM with a PRP trigger and stainless slide a couple years later and its been an awesome gun as well.

I would say the 4" Service model .45 XD Mod 2 as well, but I can't really miss it since I have it.

I had to hunt to find my other XD Mod.2's as well. I was able to find a new 4" 9mm model with a grey frame online. It wasn't my first choice, but I liked the Mod.2's grip enough that I was willing to overlook the color. The .45 is still my favorite, but the 9mm is a great pistol.

The first Springfield pistol I ever owned was a 4" .45 acp XD Mod.2 that I picked up on an insane deal when Springfield discontinued the Mod.2 line. I love that gun and still miss the Mod.2 line. Springfield's website now shows that they have discontinued a few more pistol lines.

I was never a fan of the XDE models, but I'm going to miss the 911 line. I bought a .380 911 Alpha a few ears back (I'm a sucker for a good sale). I really liked the Alpha and I always intended to pick up a full-featured black/green 911. Are there any of the discontinued models that other forum members wish you had picked up before they were gone?
Although every one of the guns discontinued I had owned at one time and no longer do, “except for one” I have no regrets since what I currently own are what I learned I shoot the best and fit my needs.

I used to own a full-sized XD 45 that came with a shortened grip. So full, 5"+ barrel and a short grip that held, I don't know, 8 rounds? It was glorious. I'd trade my right arm for one again.

I know it’s not been gone long, but I wish SA had not discontinued the Range Officer.
When you're in the business of making 1911s there's only so much a manufacturer can do to make the product look fresh.

SA has a history of making a model line then replacing it with another that's almost the same as the discontinued line, but with a new name. So then foks think it's something new when all that's changed are some minor feature(s) and/or cosmetics.

Other manufacturers just keep making certain model(s) vs. making minscule changes & coming up with a new name.

SA knew they had to add some diversity to their handgun line so they added the XD line which has been a big boost for them for along time now.

I give them an "A" for effort with the SA-35, but their execution of it has been problematic.

My .02
