i can "see that"..It's part of the inherent balance between Freedom and " Safety " .
With the excuse of reducing crime , it is a valuable tool for authoritarian governments to monitor and control political opponents and disadents .
wait till you get to be my age, and you'll want an automatic......and c'mon, while we're at the lefty prattling - how about this beauty - noone needs an automatic transmission - they're too dangerous and are used in war.
then you go and live in your happy little town, free of crime, prefect police, perfect neighborsLMFAO, you're a fool!
i give up no freedom by having street, store, Ring doorbell cameras. You seem to have an issue with constitutional protections.
What about the old saying, " He who gives up freedom for security deserves neither".
driving my 18 wheelers..YES, i wanted a stick, as i hated not having control over the power band of my 10 speed transmissions.I'm 70 and would rather have a stick shift. wish my trucks were sticks. at the time i bought them i got an auto so the wife could drive them. now she don't drive. gimme back my stick . lol. my Ford F250 was a 5 speed stick.
Sometimes I still find myself reaching for a stick shift that isn't there while driving my truck! lolI'm 70 and would rather have a stick shift. wish my trucks were sticks. at the time i bought them i got an auto so the wife could drive them. now she don't drive. gimme back my stick . lol. my Ford F250 was a 5 speed stick.
Yeah me too, was especially bad when i had the ford and the Dodge.Sometimes I still find myself reaching for a stick shift that isn't there while driving my truck! lol

Thanks. I'm glad I'm not the only one.Sometimes I still find myself reaching for a stick shift that isn't there while driving my truck! lol
You give up no freedom unwillingly anyway.i give up no freedom by having street, store, Ring doorbell cameras.
continue living in your woods, away from the real world.
it is not a ghetto, it is a Historic District, where it has been coming back to the old architecture of the houses are in full bloom. You give up no freedom unwillingly anyway.
Sounds like your neighborhood is now the ghetto. If that's "The real world" you can keep it. I did about a decade in the most dangerous neighborhoods in the country. I've been shot at several times and had my friends murdered on my job site. I'm more than happy to live in the woods and work in suburbia.
as long as no drones are flying over my property, or cameras atop electrical/telephone poles, and NOT aimed into my yard, then my privacy is not being violated. once such a thing happens, then YES of course, my privacy is being violated.Old_Me: Get up one the wrong side of the bed did we? We generally agree on most thing but here I feel your dead wrong. There should be some expectation of privacy, less than at when home, but even out and about. We may think we have nothing to hide, and do everything by the book but people tend to see what they want to see and then come up justifications. I'm twice as leery of the people looking at the images as the images themselves.

When the government had motorcycle shifters moved to the other side, it confused me for about 2 minutes. I do miss a manual for 4 wheels, but they can be a pain in stop and go traffic.Sometimes I still find myself reaching for a stick shift that isn't there while driving my truck! lol
Stop and go traffic on a motorcycle is no picnic, either. The pain is in the left hand but not the leg. When the government had motorcycle shifters moved to the other side, it confused me for about 2 minutes. I do miss a manual for 4 wheels, but they can be a pain in stop and go traffic.
