Anyone remember this kids toy? You put the gum like substance with a strong glue smell on the end of the straw then you blew it into a bubble.

Yes. And people smoked in the cab.

People smoked on the airplanes … ahh.. the fog of cigarettes. Smoking vs non smoking was just a different numbered row.. yeah, that kept the smoke in their section

Those are 'press and go' glue bottles. Don't know who actually made the glue, but it was pretty good stuff for the day.

I aslo remember only having 3 real channels on TV.. ABC, NBC and CBS
a few minor ones WPIX, WNEW, all black and white.
my remote was my little sister....

Anyone remember having a DuMont 14" round screen TV in the early to mid 1950's? It was one of the first TV's on the market and required a rooftop antenna with an electric rotator. I remember my Dad and two of his friends up on the roof installing the antenna. ABC, CBS, and NBC in black and white were the only stations available at the time. The picture and monaural sound quality wasn't bad for the time though. Friends and neighbors were astounded by it as we were the first in our neighborhood to have a TV. Our living room was packed with Dad's friends for the live Friday Night Fights sponsored by Gillette with only a few commercials between bouts. I was allowed to stay up past my normal bedtime to watch. I saw most of the greats from that era on that TV.

Holy crap, I had forgotten all about this stuff. It was AMAZING!!!!

Thr glue bottles were by LaPaige I believe.
