Do you wear gloves?

I saw these at the NRA Convention. I ordered them when I got home. I like to wear gloves when I’m on the Public Bus or Subway system. I definitely want gloves on if I got to go hands on with someone.

I keep gloves around and sometimes wear them. I haven't worn gloves while shooting in a long time.
Back when I was doing bouncer work(late 70's until about 2000) I used to get my fingers mangled up while throwing people out or taking them to the ground. Now if I think my hands might get damaged, I reach for a pair of gloves.

I also got my hands mangled up while breaking boards in karate(sometimes people holding boards get nervous and wince and your hand doesn't hit the board at the correct angle. Besides Bruce Lee once said, "Boards don't hit back."...:)

My toes are mangled for the same reason but Vibram shoes aka "Ape Feet" have helped my feet, especially my toes, feel a lot better...:) They're not cheap but I think they're worth every penny...I have 2 pairs, one for working out, one for casual walks. Once your feet adjust to them you can almost forget you have them on. I've fallen asleep on my couch with them on..:))

I always wore gloves when I rode motorcycles. I had several different pairs for different riding conditions. Weight lifting gloves were handy for riding a motorcycle in the summer because of the padding.

I looked at "Tactical" gloves for weeks when I was wanting some shooting gloves. I believe it was @HansGruber who turned me on to Mechanix. You can get them at your local auto parts store or home improvement store. That way you can try them on. I like them tight and I don't want a seem across my trigger finger. Mechanix has a few different models that fit the bill. And thy are way cheaper than all the "Tactical" stuff.

That said, I saw some Viktos gloves that looked nice. I might try them.

I like the Mechanix elastic-wrist for pheasant hunting; gives a little protection when pushing branches/tall grass away, keeps the wind from making them chilly…but still have enough dexterity for loading, shooting, etc.

The elastic wrist makes ‘em easier to take off/put on, as well, instead of mucking around with elastic.

For 50-150 rounds in warm weather, no gloves. For extended trainings and practice over 200 rounds, yes. Have a pair of the thin Mechanix Tactical for Spring or Fall weather and a pair of thin North Face Winter Golf Gloves that work well unless it's extremely cold and windy, when I'll usually move to the indoor range. Bought the Mechanix at my LGS and the North Face at Dick's after the clerk in the gun area sent me to the golf section when I asked about something warmer as he said they're what he uses for shooting in cold weather. Both pairs give me great tactile feel and grip but, glad I was able to try both on as I ended up getting one size smaller for both pairs rather than my normal winter glove size.

No, but thinking of giving it a try. Sometimes I find I go long periods of time between practicing with the 10mm 1911, and my right thumb gets a tad sore from riding the safety after 150 rounds...the Ronin thumb safety pad can be a little rough on a salesman's thumb (if you grip this way). No hotspots from any other pistols... Never needed gloves for grip though.

I am thinking also about trying it maybe start with golf gloves I always like how thin they are

Baseball Batting Gloves or Handball Gloves might also be worth a look as some of them are also thin as well.

Here's a link to a thin, grippy looking baseball batting glove for less than $20:

Edit to correct auto correct and add link
