Some brands were terrible but the Servus Rubber ones that came out of Rock Island, Illinois were as tough as the LL Beans. When Servus changed ownership in 1968, their quality went downhill like skiing on a icy slope.i don't know the name but i got all my brother's hand me down ones that were already leaking. i hated those boots!
I do believe they were made by Converse or Bristol. Converse was more military style and Bristol was more agricultural looking. The 60s tall green lace up rubber uninsulated boots with the yellow tan soles? All the rural kids I know wore them constantly all spring, fall and even winter with heavier socks.
If you sprung a leak before it was time to get your new pair for the year you used bread wrappers over your socks.
Summer time out came your tennis shoes with the red circle on the ankle.tennis shoes were appropriate substitues for the boots in all seasons also.
