Don’t know if ……..

I have thought about it for my ar10 308 but the red tape seems overwhelming. Do I really have to create a “trust”
A trust allows the item to be passed down to the named persons on the trust in the event of your death.

Filing as an individual means upon your passing, the items get surrendered to Uncle Sam or destroyed since they cannot be passed on

Trusts are like $100 online

Thanks for the info. Our family had trust with farmland/estate and moved away from it in recent years when we decided to split everything up. I was unsure how it worked with suppressor.

In order to own certain items that fall under the NFA (National Firearms Act—been around since the late 1930’s)—which includes machine guns, suppressors/silencers, short barreled rifles & shotguns—you need to pay/buy a $5-200 tax stamp.

Research NFA items to learn more.
I don't think class 3 ( machine guns) is just a $200 tax stamp is it. I think you need a class 3 FFL license.

$60 online sale
I got this trust and have used it for all my NFA devices .
About 10 minutes to fill out online and they email you the trust.

Note: if you do this Proof Read your trust before you hit enter.!!! Any misspellings or incorrect address means you have to pay another $60 to get a new trust to fix the errors.

Also, if you keep a completed copy of this trust on your smart device, when you buy a suppressor at an LGS, you can email them a copy to finish your purchase of a suppressor from your smart phone.
If not, you can email them when you get home

Wow, definitely will. Had no idea... I only own my 1911, a .177 break-action air rifle for pigeon control in our yard and my slingshot.

Am I even allowed in this forum with that small of an arsenal?
Where’s my ban 🔨?
Where or where did I put it?

Lol jk. I only had an XDM and a .22 for a long while. One day I just decided I needed another. Then another. Now I’m at “crap I need a safe”.

Any NFA item can be passed down in an inheritance if you have an Will in place and instructions for the inheritor to fill out a form 5 with the ATF which is a tax exempt transfer of each NFA item.

It's definitely a lot easier with a legal Trust and the Trust also grants the ability for more people in you're family or friend circle to legally possess the NFA item.

Will this work? 🤣🤣🤣🤣

That's probably the case in most free states. And I suppose it's not too long before ALL transferable machine guns are C&R eh? Do those require a tax stamp ?
Yes—I’m pretty sure all MG’s require registration & a stamp.

I don’t think there are any “antique” MG’s—but there are “antique exempted” SBR’s, such as pre-1900 Trapper carbines (12-14” barrel lever actions) or broomhandle Mausers or Artillery Lugers with the holster stocks…

Back to the OP. I got the card offer in the mail and while it caused me to pause, I tossed it. I don't understand how suppressors cost so much. If a gun with many parts cost $400-500, why do cans cost about $700-800? I would love one, but not at those prices. Seems like you should be able to get one for a couple hundred bucks. Maybe Taurus or Hi Point should start undercutting the market. Heh-heh-heh

Type of material they are made from as well as capitalism at its finest. Supply and demand

In other parts of the world, where using a can is just good manners…you can buy them for as little as $20; these are usually only good for 2-3 rounds, though, and would be used for hunting.

A buddy in New Zealand mentioned it one time.
