Don't mess with the South

Harry appreciates your porch light bringing in a smorgasbord of bugs every night.

We have a good friend who is a spider biologist mostly studying medically significant spiders. He came up a couple years ago and spent several days on the farm looking for populations of Brown Recluse and Widows. He left with about 50 specimens but found no Brown Recluse. If you are an arachnophobe, you would not be happy here.
Yeah, I'm not to fond of spiders either.

Here you go. 🤪

Saw this tour. Can play this song.

If you look closely at this picture you will see I am wearing a Primus t-shirt.

They kill the other creepy crawlies. Unless they're in my shower or my bed or venemous I leave them be.
Agreed. Spiders are great for the environment, just not my environment.
If a spider makes the mistake to enter my abode it’s dead on sight.

Don’t ever touch a Brown Recluse!!
During my years as a Eagle scout a friend thought he was doing a good thing to remove one from a tent, it bite his hand and he had to have two fingers removed, the skin rotted away on them from the poison.

I’ve been bit multiple times. Barely even a red spot. My wife on the other hand has been bitten by BR a couple times and it resulted in festering sores. Nothing as bad as your friend though.

We learned from our biologist friend that spider bites are often misdiagnosed as Brown Recluse bites. They are not aggressive and bites usually are a result of pressure like rolling over on one or grabbing an object where they are hiding. Thankfully they are not running around in darkened bedrooms looking for humans to chomp on. Brown Beavers are far more aggressive and dangerous.
