In all seriousness, I’ve seen guns dropped in all sorts of drills and they dont go off.
If indeed it just fell in the holster and went boom, thats no bueno.

As for his location in the area he described, locals prob paid no mind to gunfire

I remember when the guy next to me dropped his brand new, loaded Max Michel P320. It was like slow motion as it flipped end-to-end and bounced on its beaver tail pointing right at us. But our Sig faith was strong and we chuckled, picked it up and commenced firing.

What was the ground like where it fell? Soft, hard, trash, debris, rocks, etc?

I'd definitely contact both Springfield and Safariland.

Going to lock this thread, the only advice is to call Springfield Customer service immediately and send in both the gun and holster for inspection.
