Depends on your brand of competition. Just how much accuracy is required?
I shot IDPA for 12 years with nothing more than a box, stock Springfield G.I. Model.

I used a CZ SP-01 Tactical for a few years ... This year I swapped to a Dan Wesson DWX Compact, much better trigger and accuracy

i have 2 Dan Wesson's, to me, accurate, and under $2,000 by today's prices

What box do you have to fit in. Are you running an optic? Compensator? Does it have to be a 1911/2011. CZ Shadow 2 ticks all the right boxes.

Since it is a Springfield Armory site I think we would be remiss not mentioning the Prodigy. Not being a competition shooter i have no idea if it has all the needed options or not.

Limited Optics in USPSA. No comp but an optic ready or millable. 1911/2011 is a must. Not interested in the Shadow 2.

Shadow 2 is a beast...IMO. I see too many Prodigy(s) (unsure of plural spelling for a name...) sent back for re-work...continue to hear about them to this very day, on this very site. I'd toss in a Canik Rival-S just to **** off ROFLMAO a couple anti-Turkey guys. WAY under your price cap, and mine has an extraordinary trigger. PITA to clean, but sweet while shooting.
