EAA Unveils Girsan MC P35 Hi-Power Clone

I have a beautiful Browning Practical High Power. I fell in love with it the moment I saw it. High Power Ive been told is the first double stack semi auto. Very well respected .. But I am amused that my new Hellcat has the same magazine capacity.
Yes, the High Power was the first double stack pistol, also the last gun John Browning designed, even though he passed away before it was complete, great gun, supposedly it was his improvement over the 1911.

The Hi Power sorta ‘fixed’ all the odds & ends and peculiarities (for lack of a better word) of his seminal 1911 design… as I understand it, he wanted it in a larger caliber and intended it for the US military, but the US mil was inundated with 1911s from WWI. Or some such; it doesn’t really matter:)

Point is, Hi Power ended up being the original Wonder Nine.

The Tisas Regent BR9 (another Turkish manufacturer or the same a Girsan?) has been available the last couple of years.

From what I have heard parts are interchangeable between the Tina's and Browning. Hope the same is true with the Girsan.

I will admit to having looked quite a bit at the Tina's when I decided to get my first 9x19 pistol.

According to BH Spring Solutions (a BHP specialist) Tisas is supposedly working on a new model, and address some features compared to their earlier BR9.

Dear Friend (BHVeteran),

There is a picture of a new "project" circulating social media and gun forums.

This appears to be a version of Tisas BR9 that and according to the Tisas Facebook Page is: "New model that we designed according to your suggestions and requests. COMING SOON!".

We note that Tisas has copied two of the parts that are now owned by BHSpringSolutions.

We want to say "THANK YOU" to all users who suggested to Tisas to use the design of our Extended Slide Stop and the Safety Lever of the SFS System. It is confirmation that these parts are as beautiful as they are functional.

Unfortunately, BHSpringSolutions was never approached by Tisas with any proposal about the right to use these parts as a design or with any questions about correct production tolerances, correct metallurgy, hardening requirements, etc.

Based on the picture above, we also understand that Tisas' advisers also admire the work of our colleagues at Kimber, NHC, and Coolhand.

Nevertheless, we're looking forward to this new gun becoming available and to evaluate it.

For all our friends that would like to own the ORIGINAL Components that have a 28+ Year track record, you can do that by purchasing at our website or click on the links below.

Thank You!

Very sharp!

I have a Girsan 1911, and it's a POS to put it lightly. Been back for warranty twice already, and still the same. Starts stove piping soon as it gets a little dirty. Each time it came back, it took an extra mag before issues arose. I've pretty much relegated the thing to malfunction clearing training tool.

With clones popping up and selling like hot cakes one has to wonder why Browning isn't still making them?
I feel the same way. I'd be willing to pay a higher price for a new Browning, but it's just not an option. A clone isn't my first choice, but it looks like it's my only choice if I want a new production firearm.

No where near an expert on 1911 but have you tried different weight recoil springs. You can probably find the info via google. I cant remember where I read the article possibly Wilson Combat. For some reason years ago I changed the spring in my Colt Gold Cup National Match 1911 to a progressive. Dinged the brass and a couple stovepipes . So I changed to the Wilson Combat Shok-Buff Kit for full size and its back to normal.

I have a collection of various recoil springs, and slide stops, and magazines (cmc, Wilson combat, mec gars), and magazine springs (wolf). Tried getting it to run reliably a lot before sending it in for warranty. Still stove pipes, sometimes fails to go into battery, and often locks back slide before mag empty.
