I've shot a 25# turkey (cleaned) for thanksgiving when I was 7 (I didn't eat it) and everyone else who ate didn't complain. It didn't smell gamey probably due to the amount of horse feed it got! Every morning 365 days a year they (turkeys) would chase the feed p/u for their breakfast.

They do a little bit, but if you brine them for 24 hrs, they come out fantastic like a baked or smoked traditional turkey.

Wild turkey is a million times better tasting than domestic, store bought turkey. And if you saw the conditions those turkeys were raised and transported in you would never eat another one.
