Emissary in 9mm Fail to chamber

Maybe you're the gun whisperer.
Honestly, I actually feel like that sometimes. I’ve had trouble free experiences with some notoriously sketchy guns, but I also am not a panicker. If something doesn’t go well I don’t feel personally aggrieved. I like the challenge, the chase for a solution. I also am not heavy handed in the least and I am absolutely convinced that 90% of gun issues are self inflicted by people who don’t understand how kack-handed they are. My personal experience as a firearm owner and user has been 110% enriching. Even when this happens:

Anyone else have issues with their Emissary in 9mm failing to chamber a round? I have tried multiple brands of ammo and all different bullet weights and multiple magazines. The weapon will extract the spent round and feed the round into the chamber, but the chamber will not close all the way. I have to use the heel of my hand and strike the back of the slide to get the weapon back into battery. Is this an issue I have to send back to Springfield? Anyone else experience this issue? Thanks for the help.
Welcome to the forum from South Texas.

I've never had any problems with my various XD/S?/M family acquisitions, and not any of the 1911's but I haven't bought a SA 1911 since the mid-90's. My M1A's are all in the 80-90's era with no issues.

I have much more confidence in the Croatian imports than the recent domestic/Turkish offerings. Rushing new models to market before adequately getting all the bugs out seems to be counter productive.

I won't get any of SAs recent rifles since they're too pedestrian for my needs, and have with built/modified my own for ~30 yrs.

I can relate. The last time I had a problem with a handgun it was the 90s and it was using Mec Gar aftermarket mags in a Llama Max II .45. Before that the only issues were non issues really. 1911s needing feed ramp polishing or whatever.
I’ve never had an issue with an optic, ever. None came loose, lost zero, stopped working or even had a battery die.
I’ve been messing with ARs for about 5 or 6 years now, I’ve “built” about 10 of them now and never had so much as a failure to feed or fire.

Of course you have bought more guns in the last 4 years than I have in my whole life so the test pool for you is much larger. 🤣🤣

Almost all 1911 FTF issues can easily be corrected with a "Throat & Polish" job by a competent gunsmith, and FTE issues by tweaking the extractor, or installing a higher-quality one than the OEM installed one.

Other than that it's likely a magazine issue.
