Lucky! For me, It’s probably watching the WWII movies & shows that showed them. I just always want one (in fact I also own a 1943 P38 as well, but not all numbers matching)

Yes, he mention that & it did sound fairly simple. From what I understand, Ruger previous models were difficult to put back together after disassembly. They are not hard to break down it's only one screw under the barrel. But yes the Ruger is tooless. There is a bigger aftermarket for the Ruger also.
I have it in full size as well as the S&W M&P AR 15-22 (with checked Bolt face = OK. ( Project Appleseed issue)).I like my S&W m&p 22 compact. Very reliable. I carry it with me when I am doing stuff n my land. Holds 10 rounds and accurate. Fits well in my hand and the perfect size to carry.
Not sure. S&W sent me the Bolt face gauge (cheap little plastic thing), and it's suppose to lay flush inside the bolt face over the firing pin. If not flush (that's the potential problem), S&W will repair after you send in the Bolt. They probably will just send you back a good one (you can also have them check the bolt of you don't want to do the check yourself). I checked it myself, and it laid flush across the Bolt Face indicating it was good. Now is this good enough for project Appleseed, or do you have to do the inspection in front of them to compete with the 15-22? I'm really not sure.^ Has Appleseed allowed 15-22s back, yet?

The guy at the gun shop that sold me mind was surprised when I told him Project Appleseed banned them. He was sure that he saw 15-22's there when he recently went, and indicated his M&P was OK as well (so it must of been recent when he went). So who knows. On their website, there is a write in section under the "Contact Us" selection, where you select the State and ask/state you concern. I suppose you can try that for an answer. That's what I did, too.
I've been trying to keep an eye out for Appleseed's decision regarding the 15-22, as that would likely be what my daughter would attend with, but I haven't seen anything reversing their decree years ago. I'm still sitting on a couple of tickets that my buddy got us.
