FINALLY Decided on New EDC

To answer your question, the only major malfunction for me is the grip angle on Glocks! I've shot hundreds of rounds from Glocks belonging to relatives and friends trying to convert me but they're a "no go" for me until they make one with a proper grip angle.. Not bashing the brand, as millions love them, and millions don't, so I'll remain with the millions wanting the right grip angle for now. :)
I personally DESPISE the grips on Glocks. If I were ready to drop close to $2k to deck a Glock out the WHOLE way I'd want it, then I'd get a grip reduction done as part of a stippling pkg. But with what the framework/stippling would cost, along with a new trigger, new sights, a Grip Force beavertail adapter, Vickers Tactical ext'd. controls, a Radian or PMM JTTC Micro, a halfway decent magwell & a good optic plate (Calculated Kinetics or Eleven 71 Design), I'd be at close to $2k. And that's NOT factoring in shipping for all those parts, AS WELL AS TN's 9.75% sales tax (only bummer of no state income tax).

Or I can get get the MR920P for $1077, spend $120 on the parts for the trigger mod (Overwatch Precision minus connector & Ranger Proof Vex shoe) & a TLR-1HL, & leave it at that, & I'll STILL be UNDER what it'd cost to do all the same stuff to a Glock. The Shadow Systems seems more cost-effective.

Actually I prefer the grip on the full size G17 over the compact G19
My nephew, whom I shoot with often, has both of these Glocks and shoots them both very well. I've put a lot of rounds through them as well but just can't make that grip angle work for me. That said, he can't shoot my 3 EDC's of different brands any better than I shoot his Glocks. We have a lot of good natured fun at the range, kidding and trying to convert each other. I guess the bottom line here is own and shoot the ones you are most accurate and efficient with. For me, it's always try before you buy!

I wish to hell all the guns I liked were available to rent. I've shot the Shadow Systems DR920 (not the comped P model, but it's too damned long anyway) & LOVED it. Same with the MR920L. Again, not the comped P model, but it's the same length, & loved it even more. I'd LOVE to be able to rent a Zev OZ9 (any variation) & Canik Mete SFT Pro & TTI Combat. Sadly, unless I go to that AMAZING gun shop in Vegas where you can rent pretty much any gun ever made since Browning wore short pants, some of them are just damned near impossible to find for rent. The BEST place that even comes REMOTELY close is Bud's Gun Shop in Sevierville, TN (next to Pigeon Forge).

Now, I'm presented with a conundrum. Dauntless Engineering is coming out with an adapter to fit the Holosun EPS (I have 1 that's homeless now that I'm turning my PDP into a range gun) to the OZ9. Lord knows, there are TONS of deals to be had on the OZ9 if you check GunDeals. So now I'm torn. I've been wanting the Shadow Systems MR920P FOREVER. But I've been equally impressed with the OZ9 due to its stainless steel receiver (which translates to less recoil) & the modularity of the platform. I'm in a position that probably won't come around again any time soon. That I could afford 1 of the 2 nicest guns I've seen in a while. So now I have THAT to mull over....

1st world problems.

What're your EDCs?

Hellcat OSP with Shield RMSc, M&P Shield 9 1.0 with CT LL-801G laser/light, and Sig P365 380 with Romeo X Compact Optic. Never a problem with any of them, as all shoot accurately and efficiently for me, easily concealed in all carry modes as well. Also carry a small tactical flashlight at all times. Only times I draw any of them is frequent trainings and practice to keep my skills at the ready "just in case." Learn, Train, Shoot,...Repeat!
