Finally found one of them new XDM Elite Compacts

I have two 20 round mags and two 22 round mags for my XDm Elite and they only have 19 witness holes in them.
Not sure why they do this? The only thing I can think of is so it doesn't scare the "anti-high capacity" crowd.
Good find on the .45 and glad to see you have recovered from the Kung Flu.
The enlarged base pads increase the mag capacity by +1 to +3 on otherwise 19rd mags.

No sense to drill 1 or 3 more holes in the mag body.

I received the free mounting plate from Springfield today for putting my Holosun 507C on my Compact Elite 10mm

The Holosun came with screws that had blue Lock tight on them already although I might pull them and put a fresh dot on them and re-install them.
Looking forward to shooting this on Wednesday to zero in.

Free plate you say, how did you manage that?
You will get a free plate from Springfield when you ask for one within the 90 day window after registering your gun for warranty. In fact when I registered my Elite I ordered 3 extended mags which sell for $47 and got them for $31 each, I just placed an online order for another extended mag and since I’m still within the 90 days the system priced it a $31

Where does a person request the free plate? I registered the warranty and got my discount but missed the free plate that I almost bought/ordered this week

I have yet to find any m'n p 10mm mags. Gun mag said they ordered 200 about 6 months ago and not 1 in stock. No mags on smith site also :( . It came with 2, but I WANT MORE! 4-6 more at $40+/per.
Let me know when you find them. I just picked up the M&P 4.6” 10mm (w/safety blah, don‘t like safety’s so I’ll just keep it as home defense gun with safety off). I know when I bought the Performance Center 4” Shield Plus, their mags were tough to find. I signed up on several sites to be notified and JoeBobOutfitters were one of the first to notify me about them. I don’t see any of the 10mm’s there, but hopefully they’ll start showing up elsewhere.
Still got the SA compact 10mm pistol on order, and that’s been on order before I even heard about the M&P 10mm. 🤷‍♂️

There is actually a card in the box underneath the envelope with the user's manual that will give you a website you can order your free plate from, or you can call them.
Yeah, some gun manufacturers are doing the same to save on costs of shipping out numerous plates Included with the firearm. Walther did the same when I bought their PDP pistol. If my memory serves me correctly, I was able to select the plate for the optic I wanted to install After registering the pistol on their website. In my case I ordered the footprint for the one the could mount the Delta Point Pro (plate #4 I believe). My recent S&W 10mm came with several plates, but they all appeared to be plastic. It’s all about save costs it seems.

I decided to give the thumb safety a try. The safety feels fine and so far stays out.

A lot of searching and even called s&w and no mags available anywhere. They told me Brownells and MidwayUSA would be the 1st to have them. How sad!
That seems to be the case when manufacturers release new firearms. As I mentioned with S&W, their Sheild Plus (when first out), M&P 10mm, and even the new CSX I bought, all are lacking additional mags yet on the market. When I bought the SA Hellcat, finding the 13 rounders were near impossible. It seems these companies are great at getting the initial firearms out the door (well SA's HP and in my case their compact 10mm are hard to come by), but getting additional mags seems to take months after announced release of the firearm.

Yeah, the safety works fine and I have a few handguns that have them. I just prefer non safties, and if I was to carry a handgun with a safety, I'd leave it off to ensure muscle memory, that's all.
My main carry (LC9S Pro) has no manual safety but I'm real leery around my 3 yo grandson. I sometimes think he is faster at grabbing things than I am at blocking him. So I wouldn't mind having a manual safety right now.
