I like doing mods to improve things. Cars, computers, riding mowers, smokers, guns. I have always been like this. Think Tim the Toolman, just not as destructive. Of course, my wife just kinda rolls her eyes and says "here we go again" when I say "I think I can make it better". God Bless her, she puts up with a lot from me.Been using an Oklahoma Joes reverse flow stick burner for several years. I purchased a Traeger pellet grill about two years. A couple friends said I should get a pellet grill but I was pretty skeptical. I recently smoked a 14 lb brisket, couldn't believe how good it turned out. Great smoke ring, nice bark, tender and juicy. The cook took almost 16 hours but didn't have to constantly check on the fire just add more pellets. That's a lot of ingenuity you put into your smoker.
