Finally got to shoot today

Around me, Magtech and S&B are the only 2 range (FMJ) 10mm brands that any retailer has had in stock in several years. Plenty of $1/round defense JHP's.

While online pricing is significantly lower now, Magtech 10mm FMJ are $27.99/50...lowest of any 10mm. I saw last week one store still asking $44.99/box for Federal Premium FMJ. Criminal.

S&B is Czech. I'll take it over Brazil any day.

Also, I am just stating my personal preference and make no judgement on what other guys choose to shoot.

I used to use SGAmmo a lot, but Sam hasn't come down on his prices like I would want. He still charts 45 cents a round when I can get it from other sources for 35 cents. For 9mm, he is still charging as about 28 cents a round when I can get it for 16 cents a round. Check out AmmoSeek.com for current prices from hundreds of vendors. SGAmmo used to be at the top of the list frequently. Now he is almost never at the top. In fact, he is rarely in the top 100 for best prices.
.16 a round? I use ammoseek as well, the only rounds I‘ve found that cheap are usually 1 or 2 box limit, often steel and they more than make up for that on absurd S&H.
Best price I’ve found that is good, clean reliable ammo is from ammunition planet, 124gr reloads. With shipping 1K of ammo is a tick over .24 a round.
Most of those dirt cheap per round places charge $75 to $100 for shipping…

I buy Blazer brass for around $22 a box. Ammoseek has multiple places with that pricing right now, and it’s really good practice ammo.

I buy 90% online. Many contributors here only buy from LGS's...and it's interesting hearing various prices around the country. Last I looked, I was seeing cases shipped free for $400-450. Ammoseek is a great resource, but you have to perform a little work to compare apples to apples. You have to go to each website and enter a dummy order to calculate S&H before you know your true cost. Some sites tell you "Free Shipping" (like SG)...most do not. I've only shot Blazer in 9mm and .40...like S&B and Magtech, I never had a malfunction with it. I would not hesitate to buy it if the price is right...next time I need 10mm.

OK…glad I’m not the only one…lol. Normally, when a price too good to be true…is just that.
These companies that charge $75 to $100 S&H for 500 to 1000 rounds is highway robbery…but hey, let ‘em try.
