Firearm production could be disrupted due to supply chain shortages

I honestly don't see this happening. That would also mean our military would no longer get weapons because of the shortages in chemicals and parts. And to keep our military strong and Police well equipped, weapons have to be produced.

It's the ripple effect. And it is exactly why I've been questioning the dismantling of all of Western civilization...for this. I don't mean to belittle the potential loss of life...but we're digging ourselves a DEEP hole here. The entire economy is going to have to work super-hard to recover.

My dad was a CPA, and he swore I never listened to him. Times like this...I wish I hadn't. These are scary days...and I don't mean the possibility of getting sick.

It will be the supply chain that slows the re-building of the economy wether it be firearms or in my current situation vehicles. Before all this started we built on average 2000 vehicles in a 24 hour period. This meant the constant sequenced delivery of seats, exhaust systems, engines and frames etc. etc. etc. when we stopped production every one of our suppliers also stopped production. To start back up all our suppliers will need to ramp up a week ahead of us.
This will be a monumental logistical operation.

I think this is going to happen with most things. This is why I would love to see less things purchased from oversees and more things manufactured stateside. Although you would still have disruptions, I think you would have a much quicker turn around time for things to appear on the shelves and with companies receiving necessary parts.

Absolutely agree. Time to bring those companies home & enable us to do our own manufacturing.....like it was in the past. Any politicians/corporations that do not want it to change should clean out their desks and go home.

I heard on the news that UPS is making multiple fights into the US from China bringing in medical PPE. You’d think that would be the last place we would want anything from. Please, please, please don’t get me wrong we need to protect our heroes!!! But China? REALLY?????

That’s going to require a major shift in the way the American consumer thinks—in short, the drive to get the cheapest product.

The reason production/supply of these products moved out of the country is because it's a lot cheaper...Dot, period, end of story.

And Americans aren’t going to work for what foreign labor makes.

Therefore, if you want to bring it home...the consumer is going to have to be willing to pay a LOT more.

And that’s just not gonna happen.
